Impact of Covid‐19 on the convergence of GDP per capita in OECD countries

The main objective of this study is to assess the consequences coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) on gross domestic product (GDP) per capita in Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) countries. For purpose, developments from convergence theory panel data were considered, as well OECD database last quarter 2017 third 2020. This statistical information was, also, analysed through spatial autocorrelation approaches. findings obtained show that pandemic, specifically first two quarters 2020, eliminated signs verified end until countries, bringing new challenges future. In terms policy recommendations, it suggested design instruments by European Union international organizations order promote a globally balanced development, preventing beyond socioeconomic.
